The students of Our Lady of Good Counsel School are participating
in their 1st Annual Walk &Wellness Day on October 10,
2008 to benefit the school’s Enrichment Fund.This fun
and educational day will include a Walk for Wellness, educational
presentations on general well being topics such as healthy
eating, proper hydration, sports safety, and end with a fun-filled
picnic complete with entertainment.
Please supply each child with 10 names and addresses
of family members, neighbors, coaches, dentists, etc. to whom
they may mail a sponsorship request letter. Siblings may have
duplicate addresses. Children will address and personalize
these letters in school (see sample to right).Thank you cards
will be sent home for all sponsorships received.
Here are the facts:

There is no fee for your child to participate
in this event.

The children will walk approximately 1
mile

Children will be bused to from the walk
during the day. Arrival and dismissal will be as usual.

Children will need a brown bag lunch for
the day. Additional healthy treats will be provided.

Children are required to wear their gym
uniform and sneakers the day of the walk. Children who
bring in 10 addresses will receive a souvenir T-shirt
to wear on the day of the Walk.

CONTEST: Any classroom with 100% participation
will win an Ice Cream Sundae Social! (participation =
returning a signed sponsor permission slip with requested
sponsor addresses)
VOLUNTEER are needed to assist with this fun-filled day.
